The Economic Dividend of Children
MemberLink Showcases Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida

Gary Cain, President and CEO, of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, and Orlando, Inc. Board Member, was our special guest at the most recent MemberLink on Wednesday, April 13, 2016.  Mr. Cain discussed the ‘Economic Dividend of Children’ and the positive impact the Boys & Girls Clubs are making here in Central Florida.

He shared his thoughts garnered from 39 years of working with, or on behalf of, mostly disadvantaged children. Mr. Cain pointed out that we often view children only through the lens of education. But, unfortunately, when negative things happen in a child’s life, they happen outside of school and particularly to children without a strong support system.

Specifically for the business community, Mr. Cain explained, “there is a tremendous economic benefit of having all children be successful in our region. As we make the welfare of the children in our community a very high priority, we will see the direct correlation to our local economy and to our ability to grow our future talent pipeline.”

Last year, nearly 14,000 children were served by one of the 30 Boys and Girls Clubs benefitting Central Florida. To help in their efforts, please don’t forget to mark your calendars for ‘Celebrate The Children’ on May 20, 2016, at the Orlando World Center Marriott. For more information,  visit www.BGCCF.org.
