Primary Election Day – Be Sure to Vote!
Voters registered with one of Florida’s political parties express their preference for the candidates they would like to see representing their party on the General Election ballot in November. In addition, all voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote in non-partisan races on the ballot (such as school boards), referendums, or proposed constitutional amendments.

Chamber Connect
Members meet for coffee and conversation followed by the opportunity to give a brief self-introduction. The remainder of the meeting allows attendees to learn about new business resources in the community, programs and events to help them get engaged and the power of more than 100 years of service to our family of communities. Seating is limited; Registration is required.

PLI is an innovative, groundbreaking initiative designed to strengthen and equip the region’s future leaders with training prior to their decision to run for public office. Cong. Mica to Receive U.S. Chamber Award
At the Orlando, Inc. board meeting on Aug.18th, Cong. John Mica (R-Winter Park) will receive the coveted “Spirit of Enterprise” award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Cong. Mica will be presented the award by Orlando, Inc. Executive Vice President Jim Thomas and Clark Thomason, the U.S. Chamber’s Southeast Region Congressional and Public Affairs Manager from their Atlanta office. Read more ...
Central Florida Foundation Issues First Grant
Although six weeks removed from the tragic Pulse nightclub shooting, Orlando’s healing process is only just beginning. In support of the local community, the Central Florida Foundation recently issued the first grant from its Better Together Fund. The grant of up to $122,000 to Heart of Florida United Way will support those directly impacted by the Pulse tragedy with basic needs, like rent, mortgage, utilities or other monthly expenses. 1,400 More by End of 2017
As construction activity on the I-4 Ultimate project intensifies, the need for workers rises just as rapidly. By November 1, the I-4 Ultimate team expects to hire 150 new employees. By the end of 2017, hiring managers expect to have added about 1,400 workers to the more than 600 employees currently on the job. The project is expected to peak at 2,000 jobs. Read more ...
